Vision Statement: Do you think your Company or
Organization is too small to have one?

Take a moment to think about the following questions:

• Do you have a written vision statement for your organization?
• Do all employees share a similar vision of the firm’s future?
• Does your current vision statement motivate all employees to do their best?
• Does every employee know what role they play in helping the organization achieve its vision?
• Does your vision statement promote a sense of “Oh WOW!” every time someone reads it?

If you can’t answer “Yes” to all of these questions, then its time to develop an effective vision statement.

An effective vision statement will create teamwork and synergy within your organization, as well as provide a shared vision of where the organization is going. It creates a mental picture that your employees can carry around in their heads to remind them of why it's important to put their best effort into their work every day.

No matter the size of your organization, having a team that lives by certain guiding principles, which define your organization’s fundamental reason for being, and the beliefs that guide all employees (Core Values), will ensure that every team member is always working together and making decisions based on the organization’s shared vision statement.
